Lisa Bagan

- Where to find Lisa when you have looked everywhere else… the deck at Garwoods. Lisa our boating expert.

Although Lisa works as our Financial Manager, without Lisa it is inconceivable to imagine High Camp Home. Lisa has been with us almost since we opened our doors and has gone from doing our accounting weekly to managing every aspect of our financial team. Lisa keeps the boat afloat, which only makes sense as she has lived on the Lake in Tahoe for more years than I can count. That is why Lisa does all of our counting obviously. As she will always tell you, she may not know what the job looks like, but knows every other aspect of the job better than anyone else. Lisa keeps us all in line, which there is no doubt a need for. Lisa lives with her husband Pat who is a Tahoe icon, and when not helping out at High Camp Home, spends her summers on her boat or on one of many of her friend’s boats enjoying a vodka or two and the spectacular scenery.

Katie Geresy

Play Ball!

Katie  is a Tahoe local that left the nest to pursue a design degree at UC Davis.  After college,  she returned to Tahoe where she became an intern at High Camp Home.   Her talent was so apparent she solidified herself as a member of our team.   Katie is a hot, tall, thin blonde.   There was an influx of men that started to shop at the store upon her arrival.  However, it is her corky personality and great sense of humor that outshine her good looks, which is pretty hard to do.  Her passion and enthusiasm for design makes her a tremendous asset to our team, and Katie is no longer an intern, but a full-fledged designer with High Camp Home.  Katie is a HUGE Giants fan.  When she isn’t working, you can usually find her in San Francisco at a ball game, at the lake on a boat, or shopping to keep up with her trendy style, which all admire dearly. Currently, Katie is on sabbatical down-unda! Returning in May 2012, she will have experienced an awesome vacation in Australia/New Zealand!

Amanda Schjelderup

The rule she lives by:”Always do what you are afraid to do

Amanda was born and raised in Truckee, loves the mountain environment, and her heart’s desire is to be a designer in her hometown.  Her wishes are coming true at High Camp Home!   Amanda is a recent graduate from the University of Nevada, Reno with a Bachelor’s in Interior Design.  She was a rock-star design student who’s won numerous awards for her design efforts.    When she’s not helping out with installs or making a coffee run, she is High Camp Home’s latest and greatest drafts-person.  She can whip out floor plans, elevations, and perspective drawings for clients using a combination of hand drafting and CAD.   Amanda is a perfectionist at heart and the detail shows in everything she touches.  When she isn’t working, you might find Amanda busting powder on her snowmobile, splashing at the lake, spending time with her family, or trying to tame her new puppy!

Jamie Clapp

Laugh it off – Life is good!

Jamie is the newest addition to the Camp. As our Web/Marketing Coordinator and Designer, like everyone else – Jamie wears a number of hats here at High Camp Home. Jamie received her Interior & Graphic Design degree at California State University, Chico. When she isn’t constructing 3D models, coordinating & maintaining our online store, or social networking – you can find her with her family and friends enjoying some good food, wine and dancing!

Lynette Hipkins

- Lynette’s motto… “you fly, I’ll buy” no matter what time of day. Lynette, our fashionista.

One of our long time staff members, you can find Lynette when she is not at her other job as a hair stylist, helping High Camp Home keep in style too. Always the best dressed, it is always entertaining to see what the outfit of the day may be. Lynette mainly works in our retail department, but when time allows is also part of our administrative team helping to make the business flow. Lynette has a love of design and before moving to Tahoe worked for another design firm in California. Lynette has also lived and travelled many countries throughout the world and brings that knowledge with her to our endeavors. With all of her fashion and design experience, we are fortunate to have Lynette on our team to “dress it up a notch”. Lynette lives in Tahoe with her husband, David, and is always been known to love a good party.

Bill Lorrain

- Bill’s favorite line: “I don’t work here“… No, he just calls the shots. Bill, our shot-caller.

Although Bill would like you to think he is a red-neck, at heart he has become almost as big a design snob as Diana. Bill, owner of High Sierra Customs, is High Camp Home’s Design/Build partner and an integral part to making the show happen. Bill and his team have an incredible way of taking the thoughts and designs of High Camp Home and turning them into reality and maybe even better than where we started from. Bill has worked with High Camp Home exclusively now for the past nine years and has never needed a business card as he has never had time to hand them out. Everything Bill and his team create is hands on; trades that we work with are the same and have been a part of our High Camp Home team for as many years as we have done design/build. When you can’t find Bill on the job, he is either with his wife Char on their party boat or fixing up a vintage car.  Not long ago you could find Bill on his downhill mountain bike. In fact he downhill’s well enough to be ranked one of the best in the nation for the old geezer’s division.

Greg Smith

- You’ll find Greg lighting fire under anyone who needs a little bit of motivation. Greg, our fireman.

When not at his other job keeping Tahoe from setting on fire as one of North Tahoe’s Fire Captains, you can find Greg working at High Camp Home as a jack of all trades. Greg is the behind the scenes person who can be found making repairs to the store, to keeping our technology up to date with our Computer consultant Josh. Greg organizes and keeps all of our company’s administrative issues in check and has hung more mirrors than anyone else we know. From meeting with our legal team, accounting team, insurance team in the morning to hanging lighting or hauling furniture in the afternoon, Greg never knows where his day will take him. The only thing we all are certain, is that he will never give up trying to convince the team that his white trailer is more important than Pearl the delivery truck and you can on any given day find the trailer full or empty behind his truck we all believe just to make a point. When Greg is not working at one of his two jobs, you can find him on his mountain bike, hiking or hanging at the farm riding his mower or clearing the pastures.

Andrea Sundell

- The rule that she lives by: “Happiness is not a destination, but a daily conscious choice.

Andrea is one of the newest members at High Camp Home, moving to Tahoe with her husband and two children in 2008. Andrea has established herself as a mainstay on the sales floor. She is a natural “chatty Cathy” that can get one to tell their life story within the first ten minutes of an introduction. She has a genuine interest in the people she meets and is not one to forget a face. When a customer comes back to the store, she can tell you where they live, how many children and grandchildren they have, and what sign they are. Her career began in fashion so the transition to interior design was an easy one. What she loves above all is watching the creative process unfold. She loves how lead designer Diana Vincent can transition an interior from “ho hum” to “breathtaking”. Customers tell her what they want, if she can not provide that service through retail, she will get the customer to the people that can make it happen. Her idea of camping is roughing it at the Truckee Ritz Carlton and sitting by the campfire in the lobby. However, most of her free time is spent with her family, which now includes two twins!  If she has any spare time you can find her on the slopes, at the lake, or having an occasional drink with the ladies.

Dave Svoboda

- Dave believes that he unconditionally owns every new book that High Camp Home sells… Bill’s partner-in-crime.

It has been Dave and Bill as long as High Camp Home has worked with them. When not making a great cup of coffee from the built in coffee maker Dave so proudly installed when he remodeled the kitchen at High Camp Home, Dave is also on the front lines with Bill making it happen. Dave is our walking encyclopedia if you can get his attention long enough to find the information you are looking for. Dave and Diana have the most scattered creative minds of the team and when you get them together, throw Bill in the mix that is when things really start cooking. Dave gets the vision better than anyone we know who picks up a hammer for a living. From tearing down old barns with Bill to get our own materials for jobs, to completing unbelievably creative spaces, Dave is a talent to be reckoned with. He can spin a vision into a reality and kick it up a notch or two at the same time. With Bill, Dave and their crew on the High Camp Home team, no wonder we kick it so well in every job we do. When not pounding nails, Dave can be found hanging out with his kids or beating the drums on tour with his band.

Amy Trehal

- The rule that she lives by: “Enjoy life; this is not a dress rehearsal.” Amy, the one that makes things happen.

Although a fairly recent member at High Camp Home, Amy has been in this business for a long time running. With over ten years in the design business, her journey began sorting bills in a shoebox in a nearby Lake Tahoe design firm literally learning the business from the ground up. Eventually, Amy managed the design firm and its large showroom. Amy has worked on every facet of an interior design project from designing to bookkeeping to unpacking merchandise, but is happiest being “in theatre”; visiting potential client’s homes and installations. At High Camp Home where she works behind the scenes making the design projects come together, Amy’s the one who makes sure all the items are ordered and show up on installation day in perfect condition. She also works on design projects with our team in order to make every item installed the perfect one. When not at High Camp Home, Amy is busy with her three year old daughter Madison, and husband, Brandan. When time permits, you can catch Amy making wind knots in her line while fly fishing or attempting to jump over fences on a horse at the local barn.

Diana Vincent

- Diana’s philosophy on Design: “Everything new is old again. In good design there are no new trends, no new design, no new colors and no new ideas. There are only new designers interpreting the world of design through their own eyes. Trends come and go, but good design whether it is a wonderful piece of furniture or a building lasts forever.

Diana is the Owner and Lead Designer at High Camp Home and has spent the last 18 years in the world of design. She began a staging and interior design firm in 1995 called Recycled Spaces which was hugely successful in Toronto, Canada where she lived at the time. During this period, Diana appeared on many design shows, including a regular guest role on a nationally syndicated show. From there, Diana did many guest appearances on several design shows on HGTV. After moving to Lake Tahoe in 1998, Diana decided to continue her design and staging business and within a couple of years incorporated the retail aspect into the business and later moved to incorporate on-line shopping on the web as well. Today this successful, multi-tiered business that she designed is called High Camp Home. When Diana is not designing, you can find her hanging out at her farm in the foothills of California, kicking back with her husband Greg, family, friends and her High Camp Home family.
